NBA Daily Break-Down — October 31st + NBA Top 10 Plays of the Night & More!

The Break-Down
  • The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second straight game, last night to the Portland Trailblazers. Rookie Damien Lillard out-shined Steve Nash as Nash also went down with a shin injury. Dwight Howard scored over 30 and had double digit rebounds, but his best, was not enough.
  • James Harden’s stat line of 37 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 block against the Detroit Pistons in his Rocket Debut shows that he is truly the 3rd best point guard in the league, and his 80 million dollar 5 year contract is well worth every year and penny. Harden is going to enter his prime in Houston, and he will have a Tracy McGrady affect to these Rockets. Jeremy Lin also shined with 12 points and 8 assists.
  • Jrue Holiday, Demar Derozan, Taj Gibson, and Steph Curry all signed 4 year, 40 million dollar deals with their respected teams. Major deals for these young, very talented guys. Taj only signed back with the Bulls because of the money.
  • The Sixers team dazzled without Andrew Bynum and spoiled Andre Iguodala’s return to Philly. Dorell Wright played well, and Spencer Hawes revamped his game blocking 5 shots, scoring over 15 points, and grabbed over 10 boards.
  • The Indiana Pacers barley beat the Toronto Raptors, but they were missing Danny Granger. Paul George had 14 points and 15 rebounds in the victory, and Gerald Green played 37 minutes for Indy.
  • Anthony Davis played solid and scored 21, but he did not guard Tim Duncan and the Spurs went on to beat the Hornets. Al-Faruq Aminu filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.
  • Dallas gets blown out by the Jazz, Clippers roll over Memphis, and Andrew Bogut played 18 minutes against the Suns but still finished with 8 points and 6 rebounds in the Warrior win over Phoenix. Steph Curry went 2-17.
